Indian brunch - Poha
After travelling across the India, you will find that India has vast culture and traditions. This makes India a perfect example of "Unity in Diversity". In line with this, there is diversity in food also. Different states have their unique food to offer. But the love of Indians for street food is unmatchable. Hence, India has many famous street foods. This street foods have made the places to be recognized by their names. This shows the craze of Indians for street food.
As we are
talking about India's street food so let's go through the heart 💓 of India, The
Orange 🍊 City - Nagpur. This city has its famous Tarri Poha. You might be
wondering that Poha is made across the country then what makes it different
from other. Well, here's the catch, the Tarri (gravy) makes it
different from others. It is so spicy that even spiciest sauce from across the
world cannot satisfy the need of Teekha (spiciness) for Poha lovers.
When I was in Nagpur, I used to hear one similar quote from people.
Jao tum
Delhi, ya jao Goa...
Nahi milega
tumko Nagpur jaisa Tarri Poha
As everyone
know, Poha is the dish which is prepared in every house as a breakfast. But in
Nagpur, they introduce it as Tarri Poha (the thick chana gravy). I
will share how to prepare it at last.
Famous Places
in Nagpur for tasting Tarri Poha: -
1.
Kasturchand Park
2. Sadar
3. Lokmat
Square
4. Sitabuldi, etc
Wait… Wait...... We are talking about Poha and there is not a single word for the Chai (Tea). It is next to impossible. There is a never-ending love story between Poha and Chai. Tarri poha is totally incomplete without chai. I know Tea is love of every Indian & it tastes best with another side dish. But, the combo of Tea & Poha is something like "The Embroidery on the Cloth" or like "The Icing on the Cake". Even the vendors respect their love & do offer them together. Now, the breakfast of Tarri poha is complete 😅 So we can now look on its recipe.
Ingredients: Need of rice flakes (Poha), Onion, Peanut, Green chili, Potato, Cumin, Turmeric, Edible oil. Prepare the poha and serve it with chana gravy which is called Tarri in Nagpur.
Also don't
forget to enjoy Tarri Poha whenever next time you visit to Nagpur!!!!
